On September 16, 2021, the Turkish Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD) held a webinar titled “Climate Change, Cigarettes, and Forest Fires.” The event was moderated by TSSD Executive Committee President and Board Member Prof. Dr. Melahat Dönmez, with Environmental Scientist and Founder of Good4Trust.org Dr. Uygar Özesmi as the guest speaker.

During the seminar, Dr. Özesmi thoroughly explored the connection between climate change, cigarette consumption, and forest fires. The discussion included the impact of cigarette waste on forest fires and the consequent effects on the climate. Moreover, potential measures for promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change were discussed.
